Shoulder Pain?! Ouch! 3 steps to Experience a life of Relaxation, Ease of body, and Pain Relief

Hello, Dear Friends!

It's always a joy to share a little love and care with you all.

Let's talk about shoulder pain! Ouch!  (That doesn't sound joyful at all :D )

Like everything else in life, maintaining optimal health takes awareness and practice.

We practice an "others" orientation and kindness for relationship health.

We practice personal disciplines for financial health.

And we practice things like generosity, integrity, and awareness for spiritual health.

It should come as no surprise that we need practice for shoulder health, too!

You know that feeling after a long day when your shoulders just won't relax? Pain might even be traveling into your neck, through your arm, and into your hand. This is not a healthy shoulder girdle.

But don't panic! While shoulder pain is common, there are some things we can do to help!

Massage Therapy and Shoulder Pain Relief The shoulder girdle

The shoulder girdle consists of the collarbone and shoulder blade, where a lot of arm muscles attach.

It also includes the beautiful brachial nerve plexus, which serves the shoulder, arm, forearm, and hand muscles.

Daily activities and poor posture can strain this area.

Here is where I've got some soothing news for you!

Maintaining shoulder health

Maintaining shoulder health is easy, and it starts with awareness. Awareness is the most effective tool we have, bringing us into the present moment and helping us notice...

How do we lift?

How do we sit?

What can we change or add?

What will feel good?

Practicing shoulder health

  1. Awareness

  2. Maintain strength and flexibility

  3. Regular massage

Let's explore this:

For shoulder health, practice awareness of ergonomics and posture—adjust your workstation, move your chair, and change your posture frequently. Shoulders down, away from the ears :)

Also, regular strength training and stretching can help maintain stability and flexibility.

After a day of massage therapy, I might do pulling exercises like "rowing" with dumbbells to counter the pushing and repetitive forward motions I experience during the day. Correcting overused muscular function is crucial to overall health!

I often lie on a Denneroll cervical block for up to 20 minutes to stretch my cervical spine, restoring its lovely, healthy curve for optimal function and a feeling of holistic well-being.

At-home postural hygiene is essential for overall good health and feels so good!

My favorite activity? Of course :) Regular massage therapy sessions!

Massage therapy eases shoulder girdle pain by relaxing connective tissue and decompressing the muscles, nerves, and joints in the entire shoulder girdle, as well as the neck, arms, and hands, reducing pain.

That's the power of massage therapy!

Ahhh! Just imagine the gentle relief of a Total Body Flow Massage therapy session as your tension melts away, leaving you feeling relaxed, comfortable, and entirely at ease in your body.

It's like giving your body a little vacation!

After a long week of work or the stress from life's usual hustle and bustle, some focused massage therapy downtime can make all the difference!

Oh, how good it feels to be relaxed and at ease in this body we call home!

Taking care of your body is a beautiful journey toward a happier, healthier you. I'm thrilled that you're part of this massage wellness community, making your health and well-being a priority!

With love and light,
