Massage therapy is considered non-invasive, relaxing and natural and is generally safe for most people. However, massage therapy may be contraindicated in some circumstances.

Please do not book a massage when you have any of the following conditions:

 

Acute Conditions

  • Fever

  • Contagious disease

  • Under the influence of drugs or alcohol

  • Recent operations or surgeries

  • Skin diseases, rashes or sunburn

  • Undiagnosed internal pain

  • Neuritis 

  • Acute injury

Medical Conditions

Many medical conditions are contraindicated or carry precautions for massage. This does not mean that massage can not be given and in some cases may in fact be very beneficial.

if you are under the care of a physician for any life-threatening disease or illness it is best to consult your doctor before receiving a massage.

Thrombosis

Phlebitis

Uncontrolled hypertension

Various heart conditions

Uncontrolled diabetes

Osteoporosis

Cancer

Psychotic conditions

Seizures
